Do you have card facilities?
Yes - cash is no longer accepted. No American Express or Diners cards accepted. Must we make a booking or can we just come? It is advisable to buy tickets online to be assured of entry but it’s not strictly necessary unless it's the busy season - last weekend in November to mid January - or very hot weather. Is there a special rate for pensioners? Unfortunately not; it’s the same price for everyone from age 2. What time do you open/close on weekends? Normal opening time is 8 am. The tuck shop, pools, and trampolines close at 5:00 pm, and the park closes at 5:30 pm. Do you give discounts for groups? We offer discounts for schools, pensioners, and pre-approved groups on weekdays, and Christian church groups of 40 or more people on weekends. Please email [email protected] to request a booking. Everyone else is welcome to purchase tickets online or at the gate. Can I book for my family group? Certainly. You can book tickets here on the website. Are there any discounts for family groups? Unfortunately not. We have already tried to keep prices as low as possible. Can I book for a staff party? The Farmyard may not be a suitable venue for a staff party due to the strict no-alcohol policy. Can I book for a teambuilding function on a weekday? Please email [email protected] with your details and preferred dates. Bear in mind that alcohol is strictly prohibited. How do I book tickets? You can book tickets here on the website. Can I get a refund if I pay at the gate and then decide not to stay? You can get a full refund at the office if you leave the park within half an hour of entry. There will be no refunds if you remain in the park for longer than half an hour unless you can show proof of an unavoidable circumstance. If I have purchased a ticket online and am unable to come, can I get a refund? Please go to the BOOK TICKETS page to see all information about ticket purchases and refunds. What if I have bought tickets and an extra person wants to come on the day? If extra people arrive in the same vehicle as ticket-holders, they will be given a hand-written Farmyard ticket before entering the park and payment will be taken at the gate. Anyone else can just pay at the gate, provided that there is still space in the park. On the rare occasions that the park reaches full capacity, we will not be able to admit any more visitors. Do we still have to wait in the queue if we have bought tickets online? Yes definitely! It is essential to remain in the queue to avoid road congestion and delays. Entrance into the park is still strictly first come first served so those who arrive first get in first. If the park reaches full capacity and the full sign is up, ticket-holders will still be admitted (subject to Conditions of Entry) because they will have already have been counted into the total capacity. Can I book a gazebo? We have 7 roofed pergolas for hire, which includes a table, seating, a braai and grid. R350 each for the day. See details and book online here. Do you allow taxi drop-offs? Yes, however, taxis MUST remain in the traffic queue and may only drop off occupants AFTER they have been admitted into the park. No one may be dropped off outside the gate - the road is dangerous and there is no guarantee the occupants will be permitted entry. Do you have wheelchair facilities? Yes, the park is generally wheelchair-friendly, and there are two accessible toilets. How much does the Supertube cost? R2.50 per slide - bands available at the tuck shop. (Minimum of 50 band sales required to start the slide.) What time does the Supertube run? It varies according to the numbers of people in the park and load-shedding. Times are announced on the day. Is there a tuck shop? Yes, there is a small tuck shop selling wood, charcoal, ice lollies, cool drinks, ice, chips, sweets, cigarettes (Rothmans and Styvesant red only) etc. Can I have a children's party in the park? Yes certainly, but you need to arrange your own catering etc. It is advisable to purchase tickets online to be certain of admittance if the park reaches full capacity. Can we bring balloons and decorations? Yes, but they need to be well pinned-down in case of wind. No confetti or balloons with confetti! Please clean up afterwards. Can we bring floatables? In the interests of safety, only arm bands, inflatable life jackets, and pool noodles are permitted. These can be purchased at the shop or you can bring your own. Do you have lifeguards at the pools? This is not guaranteed. We appoint qualified lifeguards or pool marshals only on days when the pools are busy. Their job is to monitor safe practices at the pools, but they are unable to watch all the children. Parents and care-givers remain responsible to look after those in their care. Can we bring our own gazebos and tents? Gazebos are welcome but no tents as they damage the grass. Can we have a spitbraai there? Yes, certainly. You might like to hire one or both of the two side-by-side roofed gazebos. They are R350 each and include a table and 6 chairs, a braai and grid, plus two adjacent parking spots for each one. These can be booked here. Do you have camping facilities or chalets? No, the Farmyard is a day camp only. Can I buy wood and charcoal? There is a small tuck shop selling wood, briquettes (not charcoal), ice, cold drinks, chips, sweets etc. Is music allowed? No music, including cell phone music, is allowed in the park. Musical instruments may be played to accompany worship by arrangement with management. No electronic music or loud speakers. Can we hold a church service in the park? Yes certainly, but please considers others in the park. No loud speakers or electronic music. Can we have a baptism service in the pool? Yes certainly, but unfortunately we cannot cordon off an area in the pool because other customers have paid for their right to swim. Can I leave the park and come back in? Yes certainly. You will be given a re-entry ticket at the gate. |
